How callers agree to texts
Honeycutt Software, LLC is building an AI phone assistant pilot for a healthcare client's office. During the pilot, texts go only to internal test phone numbers. No patient information is used.
Verbal opt-in during the call
A caller phones the office line. The AI assistant asks for a callback number, reads it back, and then asks:
"Is it OK to leave a voicemail or send a text to that number?"
The assistant sends texts only when the caller says yes. The answer is saved in the call log with the time. A caller who says no gets no texts.
What the texts say
Texts are about the caller's own call only. Examples:
[Office name]: your appointment on Tuesday, November 3 at 2:30 PM is confirmed. Call the office to change it. Reply STOP to opt out.
Thanks for calling [Office name]. Reply YES if your question was answered, or NO if you still need help.
Frequency, cost and opting out
Message frequency varies: usually one to three texts after a call. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts. Reply HELP for help.
